Question. Atlanta, GA - Professor! How do you get wine, beer and hard liquor out of carpeting? More specifically, how would you get carpet clean that had peanut butter dropped on it and then was stepped on and then had beer, wine and whiskey spilled on it.
Answer. Some experts recommend using a solution of white household vinegar and water in a 1 part to 2 parts proportions as a cleaning solution for cleaning up alcoholic beverages. But first you might try a little dishwashing soap in some water. That might help with the peanut butter as well as the alcohol. An in-between step might be a couple of tablespoons of ammonia in about a cup of water. If all that doesn’t work try Alcoholics Anonymous or some other such group. Once you’re doing pretty well with that go out and buy some new carpeting.
