But here is the story. Often commercial carpet cleaners won’t get all the soap out of carpeting. That soap builds up over time resulting in a sticky film on your carpet. Some pros recommend renting a carpet cleaning machine and instead of using soap, use a combination of vinegar and hot water – one half cup of vinegar (white vinegar) to each gallon of boiling hot water. The water loosens up the soap and the vinegar kind of softens it up and melts it away.The next time you might ask your carpet cleaning to use the vinegar-water solution instead of plain water to rinse the soap out of your carpet.
