Answer. One expert recommends using something called Fuller’s Earth on darker carpets and cornmeal on lighter colors. These are absorbent and will soak up some of the oil. Vacuum after it sits awhile. Then you can blot out the rest with the cleaning fluid they use for dry-cleaning. Another expert suggests trying the same kind of waterless hand cleaner that mechanics use to get oil off. Use water to rinse then vacuum. There are also commercial paint, oil and grease removers you can buy. Hey, another idea is that maybe all of you can get together and get a group rate from a carpet cleaning service there in Atlanta.
