Look It Up!

Cleaners Miami

Question. Miami, FL - My kids visit my ex, their father, who lives up in Georgia every weekend and that red dirt or clay, or whatever it is, is driving me crazy. The three little boys have come home red every Sunday night for months. They seem to be fascinated by the stuff. I mean they’d roll in the black and brown dirt when we lived in Indiana and now they have a whole new color to explore. How do I clean that dirt out of their clothes, or could you give me the name of an adoption agency? Could you recommend a good Miami house cleaning company – one that knows how to get red clay out of carpet, off countertops, off the front of refrigerators, off of windows and upholstery and tile floors?

Answer. One person recommends using Murphy’s Oil Soap. Scrub the stain with it and let it sit for a few minutes then use water to thoroughly rinse it. They also mentioned the possibility of substituting the Murphy’s Soap with a solution of borax and water (tablespoon to each cup of water.) The experts don’t seem to have a lot to say on the subject however I ran across some Georgia mothers who recommended using Shout, Oxiclean or color-safe bleach. Keep the kids. The dirt will be around forever, but the kids will be grown and gone before you know it.
