Look It Up!

Cleaning Service Miami

Question. Miami, FL - Grandpa says it’s hard to keep kids busy anymore since they passed all those child labor laws. But he keeps me and my brother Nathan busy painting a million miles of white fence around his stupid farm. He makes us use oil-brazed paint and it gets on our clean pants and clean shirts. My mother spanks us for getting paint on us. Last week we tried to chew the paint out of our clothes before we got home and Nathan got sick and then I got even sicker when he got sick. We thought about buying new clothes on the way home or hiring a cleaning service, but we don’t have any money too!

Answer. Running away from home is not one of the options you’ll hear from me. So you didn’t hear it from me! If you look on the paint can (it’s oil-based paint, not oil-brazed) it will mention a cleaning agent, often mineral spirits. It may help work lose the paint but may leave a stain itself. Ask grandpa to get a commercial spot remover so you can clean yourselves up and get paint out of your clothes. Unfortunately, even if it gets most of the paint out, you’ll still need to wash your clothes and your mother might not like it. Ask your mother if she could dig up your oldest, rattiest shirt and paints–some she would just as soon see thrown away–so you could paint in them. If all that fails, I’m assuming you two are too young to call the Navy recruiter?
