Cleaning Service New York
Question. New York, NY - Professor, I may need to hire one our New York cleaning services. My wife Louise loves those Terminator movies and Arnold. Ever since she saw him smoking a cigar on television she’s been smoking cigars herself. There’s this giant smoke stain right above our kitchen stove on the ceiling tile. It’s sort of an odd combination of cooking grease and stogie smoke. She won’t quit. What do I do about the tile? Looks awful. Smells worse.
Answer. I think you’ve got bigger problems than just tile, but that’s outside my job description - which is just looking up things. The pros say not to use water since those porous tiles will just absorb it. One possibility is to use plain old bleach solutions or some other chemical cleaner. Just spray the stuff on, following directions on the bottle of course. Be sure and cover up everything, especially the stove. You might want to shut down your heating and cooling system while you’re cleaning, or the airflow could create a bleach dispersion system that bleaches everything in your kitchen. Don’t forget to get appropriate protective clothing. There are some movies in which Arnold doesn’t smoke. You might have the wife watch a few of those and see if that doesn’t help your ceiling tile down the road.
