Question. San Antonio, NM - The neighbor lady’s car tires always look great. She’s very competitive with my wife and she always telling my wife that her husband gets her a new set of tires every few months for safety and appearance. My wife believes her! Her tires are always shiny like new. Now the wife wants me to get her a new set of tires every month to keep up with the stupid neighbor lady–or she says she’ll think I don’t love her. You know what? I don’t love her but the nagging is drying me crazy!
Answer. Assuming your neighbor’s husband doesn’t get tires free somewhere, we’d bet he’s touching up those tires each month with Armor All or some other commercial dressing for car tires. Makes them look great. Used car dealers do it all the time. Do the same thing at your house. Do it at night when your wife is asleep and the sneaking time is prime. Speaking of sneaking at night, it’s a shame there isn’t some way you could legally mark those neighbor lady’s tires, such as with a little dab of paint on the inside of one of the tires so that you could come back a month later and prove to your wife they aren’t new tires. It’s just a shame you – and your wife – can’t legally sneak and do that some dark night... but never do that!
