Gutter Cleaning Miami
Question. Miami, FL - I keep getting these mailers offering to clean our gutters so they’ll drain good and won’t ice up in the winter. The mailers go to great lengths showing the damage ice dams can do to a roof. They show guttering falling down, shingle pushing up and a poor man with a parka on trying to chisel ice off his roof. Professor, I live in Miami, Florida with an average temperature in January and February in the upper 60s. Are these people nuts?
Answer. Yes. Welcome to a planet run by creatures with an average IQ of around 100 or so. On top of that I think we can count on global warming to increase your margin of safety. Of course, keeping your gutters clean is still important to keep the water flowing away from your home. If you do it yourself be sure to use a scooper or garden trowel and scoop the gunk away from your downspout. Don’t want to clog it up. Flush the guttering and the downspout out good with your garden hose.
