Look It Up!

House Cleaning Dallas

Question. Dallas TX - I’m a housekeeper for a nice family here in the Dallas Fort Worth area. The only problem with these folks is that they are the clumsiest people I’ve ever met. You’ve heard the expression that a person “can’t walk and chew gum?” Well, no one in the Baxter family can do it. The problem is that they try! They love gum! I’m always finding chewing gum and bubble gum in the carpeting and the rugs. It just seems to slip right out of their mouths. I think I’m the forth Dallas house cleaning service they’ve hired in the last 6 months. Is there a good way to clean the gum out? A way that doesn’t take hours of work?

Answer - Such nice families would often come up missing back in my home town in Bavaria. Sad, but true. One experts suggests using ice cubes to freeze the gum until it is pretty brittle then pick it out of the fabric with great care. Sounded a little strange to me so I checked several other sources and the pros just about all seem to be onboard with the ice cube approach. One recommends using some petroleum jelly on it after you freeze and scrape out the big chunks.
