Look It Up!

Janitor Miami

Question. Miami, FL - My husband Bob is hyper. He is unemployed and would like to get a janitorial position at the high school but he can’t do anything in a gentle way. Once a month or so he sweeps out our garage. I think he feels like he is in training boot camp. I don’t know what his hurry is but he swings that broom like he is swatting at a fly or something. Once he knocked our son Charlie right off his tricycle and swept him out onto the driveway. The man is spastic! When he sweeps dust flies everywhere! It lands on all my canning jars and comes into the house through the screen door. (He does it when I’m not home to close the door into the kithen.) How can I get this man to settle down?

Answer. I don’t have any idea how to calm down Bob, but I did run across some advise from the professionals. Visit a local janitorial supply house and see if they have something called “sweeping compound”. It is something you can shake out on the floor over the dust and it keeps the dust from becoming airborne. Then you just sweep it all up, scoop it up and put the dust and sweeping compound in the trash. Bob might also want to drop off a resume there at the janitorial supply store. He might also consider seeing a doctor.
