MOLD REMOVAL CHICAGO
Question. Chicago, IL - We had some water damage in our home a few months ago and now every time our furnace or air conditioner comes on our house smells musty.Ralph Wilderson, our neighbor says we need to get a duck cleaner. It seems so stupid I didn’t even ask him what he was talking about. Confidentially I think Ralph is a little on the dumb side. Ducks living in our house? On the other hand it does smell a little like a duck when the furnace runs. What do you think the problem is?
Answer. I don’t think. I research. And my research indicates that your neighbor might have been referring to duct cleaning, as in “air duct cleaning”. Apparently if moisture has found it way into your air ducts they might be growing mildew, bacteria and even mold. You need a professional. (Perhaps more than one!) Many carpet cleaners and water damage restoration firms offer duct cleaning services. The professionals suggest you hire a CMH or Certified Mechanical Hygienist and start with an inspection of your air duct system.
