WATER DAMAGE DALLAS
Question. Dallas, TX - My landlord had our building re-plumbed by his sister’s kid, his nephew. Now when the people upstairs flush their toilet, raw sewage comes up in our bathtub. We’ve been paying the people upstairs to come down and use our toilet instead of using their toilet, but it’s getting to be a pain in the butt, and expensive. We were wondering if a good drain stopper in our tub, like an industrial-grade drain stopper, might prevent the problem?
Answer. Sounds like past due time for a little conference with the building owner. This should be his problem, not yours. Sewage is nothing to take lightly since it can lead to severe health problems. If it gets into materials that can absorb it such as wood and other porous substances, disease-causing bacteria and fungus and other bad stuff can start to grow. You not only need to appeal to your landlord to get the plumbing issues straightened out, you also need to have sewage contamination professionals inspect your home for potential problems. I have a nephew back in Bavaria who reminds me a lot of the nephew you mentioned.
