Cleaners Atlanta
Question. Atlanta, GA - I’m trying to figure out how to say this tactfully. She might read this. My wife is kind of filthy. She hardly ever bathes and I think she’s getting wise to me always wanting to take her swimming. This is what has led to the bug problem. My wife, let’s call her Christy, (although her name is really Ellen), she spends a lot of time at the kitchen window looking out over the yard while she does the dishes. If she only cleaned herself as often as she does the dishes. The problem is that the bugs love her! Those big flies fly right into our kitchen window screen like Kamikaze pilots. They fly full speed into the screen trying to get to her like she is their queen bee or something. The screen is starting to clog up. If it gets to the point where she can’t see out, I’m afraid she might quit doing the dishes. Should I hire a commercial cleaner?
Answer. You need a combination Intervention Specialist and Commercial Cleaning Crew all right. Regarding your screens, you can clean them yourself. A cleaning technique that sounds good to me involves taking the screen out, and laying it flat on a soft surface like an old quilt. Scrub it good with a commercial cleaner or a solution of ammonia and water without damaging the screen. Just rinse if off with your garden hose after that. (As a time-saving tip another expert suggests you could just close the kitchen window and hose down the screen from the outside.) If you are bigger than Christy, you could use the same technique with her. Lay her on something soft so she won’t get bruised and scrub her down good.

It’s a sad thing to be clueless. Even while The Clueless Cleaner believes that cleaning can be fun and hopes to provide a bit of entertainment, Professor Q hopes that his research might point some folks in the right direction in terms of solving perplexing cleaning issues.
Here’s what you need to know. Other than being fictitious, Professor Q is just like you and me: Fallible! He knows nothing about cleaning! Out of the goodness of his heart he’ll look it up when someone has a truly clueless inquiry. He has dozens of reference books and of course the Internet. But he has not checked out these solutions personally and as far as he knows the experts he researches might be just as clueless as the rest of us. Probably not, but who knows?
So do your own due diligence before proceeding with any cleaning solution. Just one more slight word of caution. The Professor has noticed that a lot of these cleaning experts say the same thing over and over again, doubtlessly to cover their own tails. They say, “any one trying a cleaning solution should test it in an inconspicuous place–whether you are cleaning your silk blouse, your carpet or your driveway. Find an out of the way spot to make sure the cleaning solution doesn’t cause more problems than it cures.”
